its been a minute

Sooooooo I know its been a minute.

My goal for 2018 was to put in so much energy into my DIYs and my blog.. and I did.. until it was time for graduation and time to figure out my life. I really wanted a corporate job with Disney. How cool would it be to design Disney’s merchandise?

Yeah that’s a dream! I was so motivated and determined to make that happen. I applied to so many different Disney jobs for monthsssss. Then I applied to a store at Downtown Disney that wasn’t owned by Disney. It was just another retail job. But in my mind, I thought that if I at least worked there, I would be closer to a Disney job. So I graduated college, I had some fun, celebrated my birthday then started working at that store the day after. Keep in mind, I live an hour away from Disney. A few months in, I became a merchandiser for the store.. and finally got a Disney job, but it was a park job! I was fine with that because again, you have to work from the bottom. So at this point, I was basically working both jobs full time. I was working the store in the morning, Disney at night and also doing my long commute in the mornings and night time. You may be asking, “Bella, why the heck did you do that to yourself?” I am asking myself that now too but at the time, I thought that this was what I needed to do.

I didn’t have time for a social life or my personal work life anymore. In the middle of September, aka Disney’s slow season, I planned a trip to Paris for 5 days. That was definitely a very, very much needed break.

See, look how happy we were!

Fast forward to the beginning of November, I had worked the longest, most tiring shift of my life that I literally couldn’t wake up the next morning (hello I’m dramatic). My mom had gotten a call the next morning from my aunt… my mom yelled to me “Bella, you’re moving to New York!” that’s all I heard before I fell back asleep. Then when I finally woke up for real this time, she explained to me that my cousin was moving out of her apartment and if I wanted to, I could finish up her lease. As we may know, I love living in new places and I have always wanted to live in New York. So my mood for the next month, completely changed and I couldn’t wait until it was time to move!

Basically, long story short… I learned a few lessons from this experience and wanted to share it with you all.

  • You don’t have to have everything all figured out by the time you graduate college. You are allowed to take time to discover who you are and what you want to do.
  • You don’t have to only have one interest and find a job in that… Experiment in a ton a different jobs and careers.
  • You’re allowed to feel sad and lost… just don’t let the feelings take over.
  • Once you hit your lowest low, you will hit your highest high.

I believe in positivity and manifesting how you want to live your life. I felt lost for the past 7 months but the one thing I was constantly saying was that by January, I will be in New York/ have things figured out more than I do now. And look where I am!
